Alia King - Musician/Songwriter

Alia King was born on August 17, 1982 in the city of Calgary.  Her love of music became evident at the tender age of 2, when she would recite songs from some of her favorite musicals such as “Annie” and “The Wizard of Oz”.  She began piano lessons at the age of 5, after teaching herself how to play several songs by ear.  She was a very dedicated piano student, looking forward to practicing everyday.  She also began dancing at a very young age, taking her first Ballet class when she was 4 years old.

Her very first audition (1994) resulted in great success as she was cast as the lead role of Snow White in the Junior High School Production of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: The Musical”.

The following year, Ms. King was accepted as a cast member of The Young Canadians of the Calgary Stampede as a Senior Singer/Soloist, and continued on with them for 5 years.  Here she gained ample performance experience, and furthered her dance studies in jazz, ballet, tap, and partnering.  Alia was chosen as the soloist for the singing of the National Anthem for the Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show where she sang for an audience of 20,000 people each night.
